2011-14 Children and Young People's Plan
We have to make sure that the work we do and the way we go about that work, is the right way for the children, young people and families across RCT.
The best way to find out what is the right way, is to ask people their views through consultation, and this means collecting information by listening and responding to people, in a way which best suits them.
The information collected this way will then be acted upon and help improve our work.
Sometimes it is not possible to do everything that is asked but then we will explain why we cannot.
We consult with children, young people and their families using lots of different ways e.g. Surveys, questionnaires, DVD’s, leaflets, posters, and in many locations e.g. leisure centres, schools, at local events.
Framwaith are currently developing the next Children and Young People's Plan for 2011-14, a draft of which is available below, and is now out for consultation. Fframwaith would be grateful to receive your views. The consultation questionnaire can either be accessed online via this link: Draft Children and Young People's Plan 2011-14 or alternatively complete a hard copy and return by freepost or fax.
If you require a hard copy of the draft Plan or questionnaire, please contact the Support Team at:

CONGRATULATIONS UNFACED (LAUREN SLYE, SHAUNA PRITCHARD, LAURA SEMMENS and SHANNON BRITTON)
Last night (25/05/2010) 4 girls from Ferndale Community School took to the stage at the Parc & Dare Theatre and put on a performance that blew everyone away. The girls, who are all self taught and had no dance lessons put on a show that wowed the judges at the V Factor.
Shannon, Laura, Lauren and Shauna were up against tough competition from Brandon Sherwood from Rhyd Y Waun with his amazing body popping and break dancing routine and Divas from Treorchy Comprehensive School with a top notch Bollywood performance. UNFACED, however, pulled it out of the bag and stepped onto the stage with an extraordinary dance performance, with so much energy the audience couldnt help but cheer them on.
After the performance there was an agonising wait whilst other finalist performed, followed by performances from Lloyd Daniels and Jukebox Juniors. Finally the results......
After announcing the best Drama act (Lucy Andrews - Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun) and the best Music act (Emily Ady - Y Pant Comprehensive School) it was time for the best Dance act to be presented. As the judge spoke about the winning act, everyone from Ferndale and Ferndale Community School held their breath. Finally it was announced that UNFACED were the 2010 V Factor best Dance Act winners, the crowd errupted!
Many, many congratulations to Shannon, Laura, Lauren and Shauna on their well deserved win. Everyone at the school are proud of you. Good luck in all of your future performances!

Saturday 11th July
Unfortunately Wembley High had to withdraw from the semi final match this weekend due to lack of transport. As a result Ferndale go through to the final to face the strong West London Academy.
Due to the match being cancelled we arranged for Nanymoel Table Tennis club to come to Ferndale to play against the Ferndale squad. It was great to see so many players from Ferndale and Nantymoel packing out the Barn with great team spirit and sportsmanship shown throughout the day.
A handicap tournament was played giving all players a fair chance of winning, Ferndale's squad members Chris Griffiths and Ryan Oyler did well both reaching the semi final stage.
A big thank you to Nantymoel's Dave Treharne for helping out on the day, also a special mention must go to Pauline Fawkes and parents for helping out with the tuck shop which managed to raise £21.30 for the Ferndale Table Tennis Academy. Every bit helps and this money will go towards competitions/kit for next season.
